Chapter 3

Although manipulating the No. 1 vest comes with many side effects, there is enough enticing potential for Lynn to put in the effort in trying to save it instead of tossing it aside.

"First of all, exclude Adam and Hermes. I can't get in touch with this kind of existence, let alone ask them for help. Also it's too risky to let unfamiliar people give me psychological treatment...which leaves 0-08, Quill of Alzuhod.

Although the main ability of 0-08 is writing scripts, judging from the plot of the original novel, it is obvious that 0-08's script writing can directly affect people's mental state. Therefore, it should be able to offer psychological help.

No matter which body receives the treatment, it should work. After all, the soul where the psychological problems reside is the same."

"Then the next problem is how to get 0-08..." Lynn ruminated. Lynn has no idea the location of the artifact in the time and space where his angel vest resides. Fortunately, he knows the current date of the main body is the morning of September 8, 1349.

This means the plot of the first volume of the Lord of the Mysteries is coming to a close soon. Klein is already the clown of sequence 8. He has already experienced many scripts written by 0-08 and grown from the death of Old Neil.

Ince Zangwill and 0-08’s script has reached a critical point as Megose will be arranged to bring the semi-mature heir of the real Creator to the Tingen Nighthawks team tomorrow.

"If I want to get my hands on 0-08, I can’t report it ahead of time. As soon as I report it, Ince might notice as the script changes and decide to run away with the quill. He might even "detonate" the son of the evil god in advance, creating chaos to cover escape.

Or he could script the birth to an earlier time since the heir of the evil god is already mature enough...and with my reminder the official forces might have a chance to deal with Ince if he decides to risk it. Either way it won’t be my turn to get 0-08 in the end. " Lin En continued to think in his heart.

"I don't have the IQ to engage in this chess game and plan for all possible outcomes. The best way for me to control the situation is to take the steam train to Tingen directly, and lay an ambush near the Blackthorn Security Company in advance.

Then wait for Ince to start the script, trace his location, and violently snatch it. If you use the power of the No. 1 vest, this is not impossible, and the price should be within the range I can bear." Lynn is almost certain that in order to get the main material for promotion to sequence 4 as soon as possible, Ince will definitely appear near the Nighthawk’s branch tomorrow.

And with the temptation of a victory close at hand, even if Ince senses some clues at that time, there is a high probability that he will not leave and run away. After all, people have greed and the hope of getting lucky.

  This is his chance.

"As long as I move fast enough, I can kill Ince and get the artifact. I can even save Dunn and the others. A happy outcome for everybody.”  Lynn finalized the plan in his mind. Although it may be shameful to do a sneak attack, it is the best course of action.

Ince, that bitch, would never have imagined that there would be a hunter after him, the oriole behind the mantis.

As for Dunn and the others, Lynn's attitude is very simple: save them if you can, but no need to stretch yourself if you can’t.

Lynn has never been an overly kind person. Lynn is even indifferent to good and evil to a certain extent, but some people want him to stand in the light, so Lynn restrains himself with a bottom line.

That being said, he will not hold himself to the standards of a savior. Lynn knows that he has no obligation and cannot save everyone.

Therefore, Lynn only does what he can to prevent guilt or regret in his heart.

"If I can successfully get 0-08, the only thing I need to worry about is the Evernight Goddess and Adam..."

Thinking about the Evernight Goddess who calculated everything so precisely in the novel and Adam who didn’t suffer any heavy losses either, Lynn frowned subconsciously. He naturally does not think he currently has the ability to face them head on. Besides the gap in strength, even in terms of intelligence, Lynn does not believe he can outsmart them either.

Lin En is not egotistical and is well aware of the limits of his abilities. Although he is not an idiot, he only has slightly above average intelligence. He was able to work undercover in the winery because of his professionalism and his background. In terms of conspiracy and tricks, he definitely won’t be able to outplay these old fossils.

"But it's not my style to give up eating because of the possibility of choking. Well, the most important thing to the Evernight Goddess is Klein. As long as I show my support for Klein and become an important ally to the Fool, there shouldn't be a big problem there."

And with Adam's cautious style, as long as I give him 0-08 at the critical time, he might not do anything to me..." Lynn sighed, "The most important thing is still to improve my own strength. Otherwise even if they don’t do anything to me, I might be involuntarily involved in some random big conspiracy and die immediately. Although losing this body won’t affect me too much, it’s still a waste.”

He can die, but he has to go out with a bang. A meaningless death is the most unacceptable thing for Lynn.

Lynn had a decision in his heart, and at this moment, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of the red-haired boy who seemed to have finished his own thoughts.

Lynn was about to greet the other party, when the boy walked in front of him, and said proudly: "Go on, call me big brother."

  Lynn:?

What the hell, he should be the elder brother in terms of birth right? What's the matter with this brat?

Seeing that Lin En didn't respond to him, the red-haired boy raised his eyebrows, and suddenly stretched out his hand to pinch his face forcefully. Lynn sat in surprised silence at the sudden action.

“It’s actually an idiot. Well, then let’s throw it out since it’s just a waste of space, “ the boy spat with a disgusted face.

After speaking, he was really eager to pick up Lynn and throw him out.

  Lynn: ...

What a bear child, where is my belt!

Of course, Lynn couldn't really let his vest be thrown out. He was caught off guard just now. In the sext second, he slapped the red-haired boy's hand away with enough force to instantly cause it to visibly swell.

Anyway, Lin En knew that the other party was a born mythical creature just like him, and couldn't be treated as a normal child.

The red-haired boy seemed to have realized something, and he instantly tried to escape out of his reach, but who is Lynn? He has practiced martial arts during his first transmigration plus the bonus of the "angel" physical fitness which allowed him to masterfully show those skills. He may not be able to deal with mature mythical creatures currently, but it is more than enough to handle a cub. As effortless as a father beating his son, landing every hit.

But the red-haired boy whose hands were slapped red was obviously not the type to suffer in silence. After being hit a couple times, he fought back brazenly.

So a few seconds later, the two children were tumbling about in a brawl. Maybe because of a tacit understanding, or simply because neither of them thought to do so, neither of them used extraordinary abilities.

About half a minute later, the red-haired boy was on the ground, with half of his face buried in the pile of flesh and blood. Pinning him down, Lynn taunted with a smile, "Come on, be a good boy and call me dad.”

Don’t you know an elder brother is like a father?
